The Family Resource Center provides education, support and resources for families with children birth to age 5 for Morris St School.

Goal: The position provides direct services to families and oversees the implementation of the seven components of the Family Resource Center. Directs and gives guidance to the FRC Parent Educator. Hours/days of employment vary due to the different activities of the FRC including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Hiring, supervising and evaluating the parent educator.
  • Recruit and enroll families into the FRC programs.
  • Work with the school principal and school leaders to implement the FRC model.
  • Coordinate FRC activities with school activities at Morris Street School.
  • Work closely with the school readiness director to help ensure enrollment of Morris St families in the school readiness program.
  • Attend FRC Alliance, community meetings and others as assigned.
  • Enter data into the mandatory CAYEN reporting system and write detailed reports.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork, state reports, and assist in program evaluation and grant writing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Early Childhood, Education, Family Studies or related fields.
  • Well-organized, professional manner, computer efficient, and a self starter.
  • Program design experience and a clear understanding of how systems inter-relate.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Know Danbury Community resources that support families.

HOURLY RATE: £20.36 per hour as per Union Contract

HOURS: 35 hour work week

LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 52 weeks, year round
