The role: Our client, a leading global manufacturer renowned for developing and delivering high-quality products and solutions, is seeking a Senior IT Technician to join their team. If you have strong experience in systems administration, network management, and end-user support, we would love to hear from you!
Main Duties of the Senior IT Technician:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
- Monitor system health to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability of IT services.
- Contribute to IT initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
- Uphold data security standards and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior technicians and the broader IT support team.
- Administer and troubleshoot backup systems to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness.
The ideal Senior IT Technician will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Background in IT support or systems administration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA, ITIL Foundation) would be helpful.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry and with SAP ERP is advantageous.
Technical Skills required:
- Operating Systems: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Windows 10/11
- Server Applications: SQL Server
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls, routing and switching
- Virtualization & Clustering: Microsoft Hyper-V
- Directory Services: Active Directory, Group Policy
- Email & Collaboration: Microsoft 365, Intune, SharePoint, Teams
- Security Tools: Endpoint protection, MFA
- Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Backup Exec, Windows Backup, cloud-based backup solutions
- Scripting & Automation: PowerShell
- ITSM Tools: ServiceNow
- Hardware: Servers, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, VoIP systems, CCTV
