The organization provides individualized and compassionate services to individuals facing developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness across more than 175 program sites throughout Greater Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Job Summary: The Senior Developer/Systems Analyst is responsible for the full lifecycle of web application development and support, focusing on modern, responsive front-end interfaces and robust ColdFusion-based back-end systems. The role requires proficiency in both legacy and contemporary tools to develop scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly software solutions that support Bay Cove’s mission.

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack web applications using Adobe ColdFusion (versions 2021 and above preferred), Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures), and modern front-end frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), JSON, Bootstrap 4 and 5, DataTables.js, Gulp, Yarn, and NPM.
  • Build accessible, responsive, and visually consistent user interfaces using design tools like Canva and Confluence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, lead or participate in project planning, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Manage and mentor junior developers, create reusable components, and maintain code libraries.
  • Develop and execute test plans in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 application support and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and suggest relevant improvements.
  • Contribute to improving internal development processes and participate in agency-wide IT planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ColdFusion web application development.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end technologies and responsive web design.
  • Experience working with files, databases, session, and application variables.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server databases and understanding of web services and API integration.
  • Ability to stay current with relevant technologies.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tools such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe XD.
  • Knowledge of healthcare environment, especially mental health, developmental services, or substance abuse services, is preferred.
