Our vibrant and busy services in the Scottish Borders provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Recovery Worker who is motivated to work as part of a diverse team, ensuring recovery opportunities are available for individuals at any point in their recovery journey. You will work collaboratively with partners and communities, ensuring accessibility and embedding principles of a Recovery Oriented System of Care and person-centred practice.

An SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Health Care and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) are essential for this post.

As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year.

We do not have a sponsorship license and cannot sponsor work in the UK. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract.

Our Recovery Workers support clients to identify their goals, create treatment plans, and guide them on their recovery journey. This role involves digital support via telephone or online, with some face-to-face support on occasion. The position is office-based with potential for home working for online support.

This is a part-time, permanent role working 18.75 hours per week, with a salary of £24,570 per annum pro-rata.

We seek positive, motivated candidates with excellent communication and organisational skills.

To succeed, you will:

  • Have SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent
  • Be registered or meet registration requirements with the SSSC
  • Have experience in health, social care, or related settings
  • Experience in community service delivery
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions
  • Ability to build effective relationships
  • Be resilient, able to prioritise, and flexible with working hours
  • Experience with substance misuse or lived experience is desirable.

A satisfactory PVG check is required.
