About Nightingale Hospital: Nightingale Hospital is the only private mental health hospital in Central London, with over 30 years of experience in delivering specialised, evidence-based treatments in outpatient, day patient, and inpatient settings. The main purpose of the job includes:
- Preparing meals for patients in the hospital, under the guidance of the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes in accordance with speciality.
- Supervising and assisting members of staff working with you.
- Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to create and develop new dishes and menus.
- Monitoring portion and waste control.
- Ensuring you and your team maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food hygiene, meeting required quality standards.
- Ensuring the rules relating to health and safety are adhered to at all times.
- Being responsible for keeping up-to-date with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Health & safety and food hygiene course certificates.
- A minimum of 3 years kitchen experience.
- Great cooking skills.
- Pastry skills.
- Exceptional presentation with a passion for food.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to delegate appropriately.
- A flexible approach towards shift requirements and to undertake tasks as requested by the Head Chef.
- Ability to undertake all mandatory training.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
