Business Unit Trace Detection, part of Bruker Optics GmbH & Co. KG and located in Leipzig, is one of the world’s leading providers of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear & Explosives (CBRNE) detection solutions. Our core technology is based on Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) and is complemented by solutions based on Fourier Transform InfraRed Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The Technical Sales Manager has the responsibility to sell, market and manage projects for CBRNE products and solutions. The individual is also responsible for managing allocated agents, distributors, key customers, and partners, maintaining contact with local stakeholders and providing market intelligence to the business for given regions. Although we are based in Leipzig, the position can be Remote or Hybrid through one of our many offices around Europe, including France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, or the Netherlands.
Primary Objectives:
- Meet set sales objectives.
- Understand customer’s organisational structures to define and meet product requirements.
- Set up and maintain details of all sales opportunities to produce and review capture plans for each opportunity.
- Manage developed or allocated Sales Projects.
- Produce, maintain, and communicate short term order forecasts and long-term business predictions for each project/customer/territory.
- Continually monitor progress of orders from initial enquiry to installation ensuring all timelines and conditions are met.
Additional Duties:
- Ensure the highest standard of customer support.
- Observe and feedback information on competitors’ products and services.
- Plan, organise and execute customer presentations, demonstrations, and equipment training.
- Organise and take part in conferences and exhibitions.
- Support the project management team for combined projects.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven track record in sales preferentially in the military, civil emergency response and/or civil security market.
- Must be a natural team player, willing and able to build confidence and establish co-operative relationships with personnel throughout the company.
- Ability to operate alone in a variety of national and international markets, with readiness to seek assistance and specialist advice when situations demand.
- Competent oral and written English is required.
- Competent MS Office systems operator.
- SAP and Sales Force knowledge is an advantage.
- Must be prepared to travel internationally.
