The DSEME mission is to train and educate electronic, mechanical and specialist tradesmen, technical leaders and engineering managers in order to meet the requirement of Defence and needs of trainees now and in the future. This position is the course manager for the Potential Artificer Electromechanical (PAEM C075) and Potential Artificer Technician Development (PATD Y005) course, delivering a training package and exam for the maths required for the start standard for Artificer Training at DSEME Lyneham.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
The duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Writing and maintaining the course material.
- Delivering the courses, using blended learning.
- Administering the courses.
- Writing and maintaining the exam question bank.
- Invigilating the exams.
- Marking the exams.
- Ensuring course material is on the DLE/VLE.
- Development of the distance learning package – webinars and online tutorials.
- Monitoring InVal and exam admin (through Exam centre and validation department team).
- Develop the course to remain accredited.
- Ensure the PAEM/PATD is complying with the relevant course documentation in accordance with JSP822.
Person specification
The Essential Qualifications/experience for the post is as follows:
- Experience: Must have practical experience in delivering learning, assessment techniques, educational statistics and validation methods.
- Qualifications: Must, in accordance with the Burnham Lecturer Management Practices Document, hold a degree in a relevant technical specialism and hold a minimum of a Cert Ed.
Desirable qualifications/experience:
- Experience: Familiarity with service training, trade testing and validation methods, external awarding bodies, educational engineering institutions and training requirements. Managing MOD staff. Familiarisation with mathematical applications within Electro Mechanical Engineering advantageous but not essential.
- Qualifications: Holding a suitable PCET (Post Compulsory Education & Training) qualification would be an advantage to job holders (representative qualifications include CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
