Role Overview
To co-lead the London trading team across holding companies, independent agency and client partnerships business. To partner with other regional and departmental leads, co-authoring an innovative and robust London trading strategy, that succinctly ladders up to key growth plays of the broader UK business.
Key components include, but are not limited to:
- delivering market leading customer success and experience
- consistently attaining internal financial targets
- continual pursuit of innovation within the field of trading
- deriving and acting on campaign insights
- working hand in glove with sales, account management, solutions and CoE teams, for the betterment of the UK business
- managing and leading a London trading team of ~ 15 people
Job Responsibilities
- Delivering market-leading customer success at scale
- Set and maintain standards that ensure MiQ has a leading reputation in the market for delivering best-in-class results, insights and service no matter the nature of the campaign
- Lead by example, implementing new and innovative solutions at scale, those that ensure we are known for being a forward-thinking trading team
- Partner closely with sales and account management to add-value in the pursuit of new business generation and existing business up-selling, ultimately driving revenue opportunities
- Driving GP Performance
- Set the strategy and lead work streams that continuously look to maximise GP across the London Trading team
- Balance short term margin decisions with long term growth opportunities
- Set benchmarks and monitor wastage across the London Trading team
- Set GP expectations by product for the team and monitor accordingly
- Work with the Supply team to monitor spend against preferred inventory partners and feedback to these teams where we should focus our supply strategy
- Work closely with the Trading Strategy team to create and employ DSP usage best practice to drive better performance and trading efficiency
- Troubleshoot and provide support on any client or technical issues which arise
- Manage workload and campaign distribution for each patch
- Liaise with relevant agencies where necessary on campaign issues
- Balance profitability versus client performance and retention in order to achieve both goals
Forecasting
- Manage the process for collating delivery forecasts across the London team to feed into the UK weekly performance updates
- Work with the London trader managers to set the standard and expectations for team forecasts
- Work with commercial leads to ensure the forecast numbers being submitted are accurate and based on delivered numbers
- Manage any big shifts in margin with the team and inform the leadership team providing commentary and a plan of action to mitigate negative impact
London Trader Team Leadership
- Regular updates to the business on GP performance and strategy
- Work with other regional Trading Leads to ensure consistency in trading leadership across the UK
- Monitoring delivery and margins with the view of enhancing performance
- Bring more commercial awareness into the Trading team and bridge the gap to account management and Sales
- Work with our CoE to identify and employ best practice for how traders and analysts work together
Commercial Responsibility
- Ensuring that MiQ’s reputation for best-in-class service is preserved
- Support London Commercial Leads in the QA of trading agreements to drive opportunities for sustainable GP growth
- Work with Commercial Leads to create and deliver on a reporting framework for Client Investment teams
- Leveraging your experience to raise the standards of service within the London Trading team
- Work with Product teams to review and set best practices for product execution in your market

You will be responsible for our topline GP performance across our London business, managing the team and monitoring performance to drive the strongest possible GP. Whilst also continuing to diversify and optimise our platform & inventory usage. You will be tasked with creating a strong culture of innovation that empowers the trading team and maintains a best in market trading team.
