Role Overview

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care, support, and guidance to children and young people within a residential setting. You will work collaboratively within a dedicated team to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where each child can thrive and reach their full potential.

This is a full-time position (39 hours per week), involving a combination of long days, sleep-ins, and weekend shifts. The initial 12 weeks will be worked via our agency, after which you will transition to a permanent role with our client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day care and support to children and young people within the home.
  • Assist and encourage children in their daily routines, promoting independence and personal growth.
  • Foster positive, trusting relationships with children, providing emotional support and encouragement.
  • Implement individual care plans and behaviour management strategies to ensure each child's welfare and development.
  • Contribute to household responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Participate in recreational and social activities that promote emotional and social development.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures related to the care of children.

  • Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential care environment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach to care delivery.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends, sleep-ins, and holidays.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people.
  • A full UK manual driving license is essential.
