Role Overview
A new role, the Global Process Owner (GPO) is responsible for the governance, development and enhancement of the end-to-end Regulatory Capital global process. The GPO must collaborate with process stakeholders across the organisation, to ensure effective and efficient process operations and identification and leverage of cross-process synergies. The GPO also monitors process performance and prioritises and drives process-related investment decisions and implementation. Additionally, the GPO is accountable for ensuring process compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures. We are seeking an experienced Global Process Owner (GPO) for Regulatory Capital to lead, design, and govern the end-to-end Regulatory Capital process across the Group. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant capital calculations, reporting, and forecasting aligned with evolving regulatory requirements. The GPO will drive standardisation, automation, and control across jurisdictions, working closely with Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure consistent frameworks, robust capital adequacy monitoring, and effective engagement with regulatory stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversight of the timely, accurate preparation and submission of all global regulatory information and returns.
- Responsible for the preparation of all board level reporting in respect of capital resources (Global and Local).
- Attendance at smaller Board meetings as a Finance delegate will also be required.
- Oversight of the Finance Submissions into the ICARA process and challenge of Risk models.
- Ownership of the Global wind down plan.
- Manage a Global Team of ~10 SMEs.
- Lead training and communication on capital policy changes, system enhancements, and regulatory developments.
- Mentor and guide subject matter experts, ensuring strong governance, risk awareness, and promote accountability and high-performance culture within the capital and reporting teams.
- Succession planning within the team.
- Assume the role as a technical regulatory advisor to the firm across all material jurisdictions.
- Assess the capital impact of new Business Initiatives and supporting Group-wide strategic decision-making.
- Deploy periodic horizon scanning to assess impact of new regulatory consultations.
- Drive the capital aspects of the Finance Target Operating Model and lead transformation initiatives impacting the regulatory capital process.
- Lead the design and implementation of a global regulatory capital framework.
- Oversee the transition from existing regional Capital frameworks & functions into a new globally standardised operational Capital function.
- Ensuring consistency, compliance, and integration with business strategy and risk appetite.
- Define and take ownership of the end-to-end global regulatory capital processes, including capital forecasting, ICAAP/ICARA submissions, capital adequacy monitoring, and wind-down planning.
Stakeholder Forums and Engagement
- Act as the central liaison for capital-related matters between Group Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and external regulators.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external auditors and regulators across the EMEA region.
- Represent Finance at industry forums and consultations on regulatory capital topics, providing insights to internal stakeholders.
- Membership of the EMEA Assets Liability Committee (ALCO) and Attendee of Global Treasury Committee.
Compliance & Controls
- Monitor forecast performance against capital plans and regulatory buffers, providing insight to senior leadership through advisory MI reporting.
- Define and track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and metrics related to capital adequacy, utilisation, and reporting timeliness.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable capital regulations (e.g. CRR, Basel III/IV), internal risk frameworks, and Group policies.
- Maintain robust governance around capital adequacy and regulatory reporting accuracy.
- Lead Finance contributions to the ICAAP/ICARA process and challenge associated risk models, assumptions, and capital buffers.
- Manage documentation and evidence packs for audits and supervisory reviews related to capital and financial performance.
- Supporting the CFO in the oversight of the Client Monies framework (CASS).
Process Optimisation & Standardisation
- Partner with IT, Finance Systems, and Risk to define and deliver system requirements for capital forecasting, reporting, and ICAAP/ICARA tooling.
- Oversee the automation of regulatory capital inputs including GL feeds, risk data integration, and dashboarding.
- Support the implementation and integration of regulatory reporting solutions, enhancing data lineage, control, and auditability.
Experience / Competences
- Extensive years of progressive experience in finance, regulatory reporting, or capital management within a multinational financial services or banking environment.
- Experience with the FCA MIFIDPRU prudential regime.
- Exposure to global regulations with a continued drive to expand regulatory knowledge and expertise.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience in leading diverse, high-performing teams in financial control roles.
- Proven leadership skills with an inclusive, engaging style that motivates and mobilises teams effectively.
- Ability to produce and present detailed Board papers at the executive level with clarity and confidence.
- Experience with Oracle Financials and Hyperion (HFM, Essbase, and Enterprise) preferred.
- Proficiency in Onestream Financials and Power BI applications.
- Must have experience in dealing with C-Suite stakeholders and demonstrable experience of working at pace.
- Proven experience leading global process ownership, transformation, or standardisation initiatives in a complex, international environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial controls, and cost allocation models across global entities.
- This role is based in London but may require occasional travel as needed.
- Exposure to French (ACPR), Dubai (DFSA), Singapore (MAS), Hong Kong (SEC) and USA (NFA & FINRA) prudential reporting requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Experienced in identifying and simplifying complex processes, collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to document process flows, and driving a more transparent and efficient operational framework.
