Job overview Due to a staffing restructure of our Pharmacy Distribution Services, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a new post. The successful postholder will lead stock management and projects for the Distribution Services and assist with the overall running of the service. The current medicines expenditure is one of the highest within the London NHS Trusts. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience in the distribution of medicines, good communication skills, self-motivation, and excellent teamwork. The candidate should show initiative, lead by example, work well under pressure, and perform effectively within the pharmacy team. Main duties of the job Key responsibilities include: Contributing to strategic plans to establish the distribution service as an NHS best practice benchmark and supporting the Head of Pharmacy Operations and Distribution Services Managers. Collaborating with stock maintenance teams across all sites to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and optimize storage spaces to reduce errors and costs. Managing the distribution service to ensure timely submission and dispatch of orders. Updating Standard Operating Procedures and training staff accordingly. Managing CAPA’s and Change Control documentation via the QPulse system. Supervising staff, including scheduling, return-to-work discussions, recruitment, and performance issues. Developing new methods for the safe and accurate supply of critical medicines. Leading service review meetings and liaising with internal and external service users to meet their medicine supply needs. Ensuring all equipment, facilities, and estates are properly maintained and secure, serving as a point of contact for relevant authorities. The post is based at the B&D Centre, Brewery Road N7 9NH.
