Outsource UK are recruiting for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to support a major digital transformation initiative for a vital public sector organisation. This is a unique opportunity to work on projects that have a direct impact on communities across Scotland — building and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps essential services flowing. You’ll be part of a team driving cloud-first innovation, using Azure to modernise and future-proof digital operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and implementing cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
- Building and configuring Azure landing zones
- Setting up secure networking and governance models
- Applying the Azure Well-Architected Framework to optimise for performance, security and cost
- Supporting continuous improvement across infrastructure and DevOps practices
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategy with business goals
- Mentoring and sharing best practices with colleagues to raise cloud maturity
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a confident Azure expert with a deep understanding of cloud services and infrastructure. You should have experience in:
- Azure infrastructure design and operations
- Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform)
- Cloud adoption strategies such as analytics platforms and Azure VMware
- Working with M365 technologies and hybrid environments
- Cross-team collaboration, stakeholder communication, and mentoring
