Help us create a better future, quicker. The role of Craftsperson (Linesperson) offers an exciting and diverse array of challenges as well as excellent opportunities for personal development.
As an authorised Craftsperson (Linesperson), you will carry out the maintenance, fault finding/repair and the construction of SPEN's overhead network up to 33kV within the DVMW area.
What you'll be doing:
- Participate as part of a team to construct, repair, and refurbish SPEN's overhead network in numerous locations within the DVMW area.
- Plan and pre vet jobs, in both daily and fault scenarios.
- Understand SPEN network diagrams.
- Obtain materials using SPEN stores application.
- Operate a range of vehicles, both on and off-road.
- Work day and night in adverse weather conditions.
- Use various overhead equipment.
- Create risk assessments before commencement of work.
- Receive job-specific safety documents.
- Connect generators.
- Keep up to date with booking of daily hours.
- Work to a high standard whilst demonstrating the highest levels of health and safety in line with current SPEN safety rules.
You’ll also need to be:
- Customer-focused with the ability to communicate clearly.
- In possession of a full UK driving licence.
- Well organised, self-motivated and happy working as part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate the ability to complete paperwork relating to work-based activities.
- iPhone and computer proficient.
- Join the current standby rota.
What you'll bring:
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic craftsperson with knowledge of low and high voltage electrical distribution networks. Ideally you will have experience of working on the overhead network, but this is not essential as training can be provided. The successful candidate would need to demonstrate as a minimum:
- Qualified overhead lines craftsperson with appropriate suite of training and authorisations up to 33kV.
- Full valid driving licence.
