We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our expanding team based in Northampton or Banbury. The ideal candidate will support financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting. This role offers a great opportunity to gain exposure to month-end management accounts by working closely with the management accountant.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (some flexibility may be required depending on business needs), with a competitive salary and benefits package, in a forward-thinking market leader.
Job PurposeAs a Management Accountant, you will produce management accounts and commentary for key areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports for central overhead cost centres, including profit and loss and balance sheet statements.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date records.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets and financial forecasts; monitor actual performance against budgets.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage the central mailbox and respond to queries from the wider business.
- Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in management or financial accounting
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and macros
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements proactively
- Knowledge of accounting regulations and legislation
- Attention to detail and error detection skills
- Ability to work efficiently and improve processes
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Team player with good communication skills
- Analytical skills to interpret data and support decision-making
- Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
