THIS POST IS A SECONDMENT/FIXED TERM UNTIL JUNE 2026 TO COVER SUBSTANTIVE POST HOLDERS SECONDMENT.

We are seeking an organised and motivated registered pharmacy technician to join our cancer pharmacy team until the end of May 2026. You will assist pharmacists and senior pharmacy technicians in providing patient-focused, quality pharmaceutical care to cancer patients receiving chemotherapy at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The role involves rotating through various aspects of pharmacy services for cancer patients, including:

  • Aseptic preparation of anti-cancer medicines
  • Dispensing pre-filled IV and oral medicines
  • Supporting oncology clinics and inpatient areas with cancer medicine-related tasks

As a cancer care pharmacy technician, you will help maintain high-quality service to cancer patients and optimise healthcare resources by minimising medicine wastage. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in the oncology clinic, especially the chemotherapy nursing team, to ensure patients receive their medicines on time.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills and training in a supportive environment as a fully integrated member of the cancer pharmacy team. Willingness and ability to travel throughout the service delivery area are essential. The role also involves participation in weekend and public holiday rotas.
