My client is seeking an experienced AWS Data Migration Lead to lead the external supplier and internal resources in a co-delivery team to migrate off the legacy platform onto the newly built AWS data platform supporting the organisation. The platform migration lead will oversee the design and development of back-end data integrations (ETL functions) and address all data quality/discrepancies between the legacy and new platforms to support other teams' application delivery.
The Role:
- Manage the data migration pipeline, coordinate with external suppliers, and matrix-manage internal data team resources to achieve migration quality targets.
- Lead migration design and implementation for the Integration Platform (S3, AWS Glue, AWS API Gateway, AWS Batch, Python, Mulesoft) and design and implement new integrations as required.
- Deep dive into all migration tasks for the Data Platform across all technologies (AWS Postgres, Data Lake, MySQL, Lambda functions, AWS Batch, Python).
- Work with Data Platform Leads (engineering, visualization, and product owner) to plan transition timelines and adapt to changing business needs.
- Arbitrate between external supplier needs and internal business priorities, reaching pragmatic solutions that resolve migration challenges within business timelines.
Candidates Must Have the Following Skills / Experience:
- Comfortable working in an Agile, rapidly changing environment.
- Recent AWS migration project experience.
- Strong Terraform experience.
- Excellent SQL experience across various platforms (SQL, PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, etc.).
- Experience with several of the following database technologies: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, RDS, Aurora, Athena, MongoDB, or similar large-scale databases.
