An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Hastings and Rother Assessment and Treatment Service (ATS) for an experienced Registered Nurse looking to advance their career or a registered Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) seeking a new opportunity. Our NMHTs will bring together the existing Primary Care and VCSE service for mental health and create a new multidisciplinary service.
You will have opportunities to work alongside and be part of a varied multidisciplinary (MDT) and multiagency team. The NMP role will be central in ensuring evidence-based treatments for service users who may have multiple and enduring mental health needs.
Main duties of the job include:
- Providing specialist clinical interventions to service users.
- Undertaking the assessment, planning and delivery of direct patient care at an advanced level with minimal supervision.
- Medication review and prescribing and the provision of up to date and accurate prescribing advice.
- Providing clinical leadership and oversight of referrals, assessment and caseload management.
- Management and mentorship of clinical staff as required.
- Ensuring that systems are in place to co-ordinate information about the take up of the services/treatment pathways.
- Responding to and effectively managing complaints and incidents within the team.
As a Non-Medical Nurse Prescriber in our service, you will work as an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, where you will have support through an allocated Psychiatrist as your clinical supervisor and training opportunities to enable your own professional development.

Essential qualifications include:
- Registered Nurse (Mental Health) educated to degree, Masters level or equivalent experience.
- Post Graduate Certificate in prescribing practice with qualification to be a Non-Medical Prescriber.
- Evidence of post registration qualification as Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber.
Essential skills and experience include:
- Post registration experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Experience of working confidently as an independent prescriber.
- Knowledge of national standards that inform practice.
- Ability to communicate complex and emotive information with staff, service users, carers and other stakeholders.
