What you’ll be doing... Verizon is proudly leading the way in the implementation of advanced solutions based on private wireless networks and edge computing. This is enabling many new cases of how technology is used to achieve high impact outcomes for businesses in vertical markets such as sports and entertainment, logistics and manufacturing amongst others.
A Private Wireless Network Principal Consultant is responsible for driving the delivery of Private 5G projects. This role requires the application of strong organizational, technical, and consultative skills. You will work closely with our sales teams, product managers, external technology partners and other third parties to contribute to the design and scope of projects, and then lead execution to deliver some of the largest and most complex private 5G solutions in the world.
Responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing a deep knowledge of the 5G deployment process to successfully deliver private 5G networks in a wide range of environments.
- Leading end-to-end delivery services, including design quality assurance, logistical planning, and delivered network testing.
- Leading the design of private 5G/LTE networks, spectrum management, RF planning, and network architecture (RAN, 5G Core, transport) in collaboration with our partner teams.
- Working directly with customer and technology vendors to guide projects to a successful completion.
- Building and maintaining partnerships with key OEMs and TPV’s.
- Maintaining a strong knowledge of current enterprise networking trends and technology advancements.
- Supporting customers and sales events at our Executive Briefing Center.
- Leading the remediation of project delays and technical shortcomings as project delivery progresses.
- Engaging directly with customers to communicate and explain the technical validity and value of our services and proposed approach.

You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
- Experience of leading the delivery of private 5G networks.
- Experience in network design, technology partner management, project management, and technical troubleshooting.
- Experience in wireless network architecture and design.
- Knowledge of 5G, IOT, and Neutral Host Networks.
- Willingness to travel as the role requires.
Even better if you have:
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline.
- Strong communication, presentation, problem solving and analytical skills.
- A deep understanding of 5G/LTE technologies, standards and deployment architectures (including RAN, Core Networks, transport).
- Experience in working with 5G security protocols and zero trust models.
- Certifications or accreditations related to designing, building or managing wireless networks.
- Proven ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Deep understanding of 5G/LTE technologies, standards and deployment architectures (including RAN, Core Networks, transport).
- Deep expertise in RF spectrum and engineering (CBRS, licensed and unlicensed bands, Wi-Fi).
- Experience in usage of RF technologies in industries like manufacturing, shipping, smart cities, or utilities.
- RF engineering skills for site surveys, design, network optimization, signal propagation.
- Experience of working with iBWave, ATOLL, Ekahau and other RF design tools.
- Knowledge of 5G generations and roadmap, generations (5G SA, NSA).
- Knowledge of network slicing, IoT, cloud integrations, LPWAN technologies.
