Here at Firmdale Hotels, we have an amazing opportunity for an HR Manager to join our team at our beautiful Covent Garden Hotel. As the HR Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full remit of people-related activities within our Covent Garden Hotel. This is an on-site role based in our 5* luxury hotel. You will build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, providing sound and expert advice to deliver an excellent people service that is compliant and aligned with the business’s expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting Senior Managers with employee relations, health and wellbeing, and people policies, providing support and guidance on HR issues, concerns, and queries, and overseeing ER cases.
- Assisting Managers with recruitment needs, ensuring the best onboarding experience for new starters.
- Organising and promoting employee engagement initiatives throughout your business areas.
- Ensuring effective and legal compliance regarding all personnel data and records, providing timely and accurate information to payroll.
- Implementing HR initiatives, the Company EAP programme, Occupational Health, and liaising with our people provider companies.
- Compiling monthly HR metrics, including staff turnover and retention, and creating and implementing action plans for improvement.
- Promoting excellent communication among employees using social media and our Talent Toolbox dashboard.
- Developing relationships with schools, colleges, and recruitment opportunities.
- Providing coaching and mentoring in a confidential manner.
- Keeping up to date with best practices, personal development, and legislation.
What you need:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- An HR generalist background at senior level, preferably within the hospitality sector, with previous experience and a passion for engagement, communications, employee relations, learning, and development.
- A strong working knowledge of employment law and preferably CIPD qualified (although not essential).
- Ability to solve operational and strategic issues pragmatically and commercially, based on operational feedback.
- A coach/mentor style with a friendly and warm personality, committed to developing people within the business.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about the industry and our people.
- Ability to build great rapport and relationships with teams and our people.
