The Role & Service

Our picturesque Waterfront service is a specialist housing complex for individuals with autism and other complex support needs. Our service comprises of five self-contained flats and other shared accommodation and is home to 8 people.

You’ll become part of a warm, friendly team who supports the individuals with all aspects of their daily living, including household tasks, cooking, finances, medication and personal care. Our team actively promote and encourage the individuals to be as independent as possible and live the life that they choose.

There’s never a dull moment at Waterfront; the people we support also love to get out in their local community, enjoying a range of activities, including attending college, swimming, sailing, climbing, surfing, going for walks and playing football to name a few! With such varying interests, no two days are ever the same. Some of the individuals also like some 1:1 time which can involve going out for lunch, accessing their sensory room, listening and singing along to music and going to discos and parties.

Some of the people we support have their own mobility cars so if you have a full UK drivers licence with a year’s experience that would be great but not essential for this role.

About You

We recruit on values and transferable skills, so you don’t need experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. We’ll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees!

What we’ll need you to bring:

  • A caring attitude and approach
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • A positive approach to learning
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

Our team are dedicated to providing around the clock support that is tailored to the needs of each individual, so shift patterns for this service usually fall between the hours of 0800 – 2200 hours and vary between 4 and 9 hours a day, so we will need you to be flexible. Weekends and public holidays would also form part of your rota on a rotational basis. There is also the possibility for Waking Night shifts.

If you’d like to find out more, please contact Julie Smith on 07833082304.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
