Madisons Recruitment are looking for Pipe Layers on a temporary contract for long term contract in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications to determine pipe layout, depth, and alignment.
- Excavate trenches using hand tools or machinery, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and regulations.
- Install and position pipes in trenches, carefully aligning them according to the project specifications.
- Connect and seal pipes using appropriate fittings, couplings, and joints.
- Inspect and test pipe systems for leaks, using pressure gauges or other specialized tools.
- Backfill trenches and compact soil to restore the ground surface to its original condition.
- Operate construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, or pipe-laying machines, as required.
- Collaborate with a team of construction workers and coordinate tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
- Adhere to project schedules and deadlines, reporting any issues or delays to the supervisor.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
