WHAT TO EXPECT
This Programme Solution and Implementation Engineer will act as a point of contact between our Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) Logistics function and programme teams during project development phases for the Halewood Assembly Plant (HAP) potentially resulting in following projects from concept phases through to facility installation and completion. This role will work closely with the GME Logistics Strategy and facility delivery teams acting as a logistics technical solutions expert and coordinating Logistics programme impact assessments, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and adjacent departments. The role will also be responsible for the development and execution of logistics solutions and automation strategies.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect the following:
- Support the day-to-day contact in GME Logistics for all programme activity at Halewood
- Support the capture of all part complexity, type, sequencing assumptions and PFEP (Plan for every part) data from Supply Chain and programme teams
- Be able to support and implement Logistics facilities and equipment via vendor route and to required JLR GME standards
- Support the management of the programme’s budget by monitoring and reporting costs against baseline
- Liaise with stakeholders to develop and optimise end-to-end processes and solutions
- Support the development and execution of logistics solutions and automation strategies
- Identification of process waste removal opportunities and delivery of solutions to reduce or eliminate
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
We will be looking for those who have the capability to collaborate and engage and are results driven along with the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes and facility / equipment installations
- Experience of installation projects
- Experience in supporting Supply Chain solution design
- Analytical skills and statistical ability
- Experience working within a major project or programme environment
- Experience of project management
- Relevant degree (engineering, logistics for example) or equivalent relevant experience
