Axcis has an amazing opportunity to support primary school students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) in a primary school in Lichfield, Staffordshire. The school is specifically looking for outgoing and caring individuals to gain some amazing classroom experience as well as support students on a 1:1 basis and in smaller groups with their day-to-day lessons.

The opportunity:

  • To become a SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • To work and support students with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • £90 - £105 per day, please be aware that pay rates will depend on skills and experience
  • Term Time Only
  • Based in Lichfield, Staffordshire
  • Starting ASAP until the end of the academic year with the view to continue in the academic year - Monday-Friday 08:30am-3:30pm
  • Fulltime and Part-time available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working 1:1 or in smaller groups with students with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Be kind, caring and empathetic towards all students and staff
  • Attend to a pupil’s specific needs and follow all care plans in place
  • Providing support to specific students as well as assisting in the classroom
  • Supporting students with various ranges of SEMH that may include supporting students with challenging behaviours
