JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Analyst is responsible for supporting strategic growth and new business initiatives across Greystar’s European platform, working closely with the Investment, Development, and Operations teams. This is a central and diverse role that provides support for, and input to, investment and portfolio management activities, combining rigorous financial analysis with market-led insight to drive the evaluation and execution of new investments strategies and management assignments, while also optimising the performance of existing portfolios. This work—ranging from detailed underwriting and data modelling to client-facing presentations—will directly inform growth strategies and value-creation initiatives across the business.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial and underwriting models for acquisitions, development projects, strategic corporate M&A, and management pitches;
  • Gather, compile, investigate and analyse market data to identify new investment, development, and management opportunities;
  • Partner with Operations to craft management proposals, RFP responses, and investment memoranda that articulate Greystar’s value proposition;
  • Coordinate the mobilisation of newly acquired or developed assets and portfolios, ensuring a seamless transition into active management;
  • Work with colleagues to monitor performance of specific initiatives and deliver key performance metrics to the business covering including income, cost reduction and value-add initiatives;
  • Support internal and external relationship management through the production of reports and commentaries;
  • Monitor and report on key market, industry and competitor data;
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to improve our reporting systems and data capture to drive visibility and efficiency;
  • Contribute to the annual rent-setting and budgeting cycle with data-driven recommendations;
  • Complete various financial, accounting, narrative, administrative and other reports and analysis and duties as assigned or necessary for the successful execution of the business plans.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (2:1 and above) in a related business or analytical subject; such as finance, business management, real estate, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics; science or engineering;
  • IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft packages including PowerPoint (Advanced level) and Excel (Advanced level).

Experience & Skills

  • Essential:
  • Demonstrated experience in an analytical role within investment banking, private equity, consulting, or other related finance, within a related geographical region;
  • Strong quantitative background with experience in financial modelling, valuations and financial analysis;
  • Strong qualitative analytical skills; having the ability to research, analyse and present complex financial data;
  • Highly numerate, with strong attention to detail;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively write and present reports and information;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels;
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines;
  • Naturally inquisitive and commercially minded, with a desire to understand the bigger picture and contribute to understanding and solving problems;
  • A positive team player, with an adaptable and flexible approach along with ability to work collaboratively to drive results and support the wider team and business objectives;
  • An interest in Real Estate.
  • Desirable:
    • Demonstrable experience working in the Real Estate Sector;
    • Experience working in residential sector or on residential projects;
    • Fluency in a European Language.
