This role involves performing functions within the Commodity Settlements & Clearing team in Commodity Operations. The responsibilities of the team include:
- Cash settlements
- Cash reconciliations
- Agreement of netting and settlement mechanics with clients
- Clearing activities (Loco London and Zurich)
- Management of daily house and client settlements
- Management of daily LPMCL including allocations, calls, and brokers
- Call account management
- Reconciliations of metals on a daily and weekly basis
- VAT processing
- Balance sheet substantiation
This position supports the Metals trading regions, including London, Singapore, and New York, focusing on settling and reconciling all metals transactions booked on the balance sheet. It requires a strong focus on controls and operational risk minimization. The candidate must communicate effectively to understand the requirements of the front office and clients, maintaining professionalism, teamwork, initiative, and proactivity.

- Ensure all tasks have appropriate procedures and controls
- Complete all tasks accurately and timely
- Seek efficient solutions for team tasks
- Adhere to Bank standards and policies
- Deliver excellent service quality
- Collaborate effectively with other Operations teams worldwide
- Work with Technology teams to ensure systems are fit for purpose and enhancements are prioritized
- Coordinate with Operations Control on risk management and control improvements
- Manage risk incidents proactively
- Promote diversity, challenge, and teamwork
- Model and promote the Bank’s values and integrity
- Support integration initiatives across departments and entities
- Participate in operational and Bank-wide initiatives
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in a regulated environment, preferably Financial Services
- Experience in clearing and vaulting commodity operations
- Understanding of clearing and vaulting processes
- Knowledge of LBMA and international markets
- Understanding of risk and control frameworks
- Banking industry knowledge
- Aware of emerging markets
