The Opportunity
Given increased and successful project expansion, our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Anchorage Engineer to help support the Steelworks & Anchorage team on one of the UK's largest nuclear power projects. You will ensure quality anchorage design and analysis, from assumptions to calculations and risk evaluation. Your future team is central to civil integrity across the nuclear island. Energy Programmes is one of our newest Business Units and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power. Their embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the Southwest) driving technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Energy Power station.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Analyse and verify the consistency of technical input data.
- Produce assumption notes, technical specifications, and calculation reports.
- Coordinate the work of CAD Designers with the Design Office Manager.
- Design structural fastenings into reinforced and pre-stressed concrete.
- Perform technical verification of civil documentation.
- Maintain and update the Design Risk Register.
- Identify and propose technical solutions to engineering constraints.
- Collaborate across teams to support safe and compliant design development.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Civil/Structural Engineering degree with anchorage design knowledge.
- Experience designing fastenings in reinforced concrete.
- Understanding of RCC and Eurocode standards.
- Working knowledge of ANSYS software.
- Experience managing design changes and layout constraints.
- Awareness of UK Health & Safety regulations.
