We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Quality Governance Lead in Manchester. The role is responsible for sustainably improving the effectiveness of the Syngenta Crop Protection Quality Management System while measuring quality performance globally through KPIs and driving improvement in the deployment of the QMS elements.
You will be ensuring that all quality governance activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines as well as building a network and strong professional capabilities across the function.
Responsibilities/accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the Global Quality governance team to ensure and optimize the effectiveness of the Quality Management System through the annual continuous improvement priorities.
- Working with the regional quality teams to develop the Global/regional Quality Key Performance Indicators against business strategic goals, and periodically providing data analyses of the professional quality dashboard (Quality performance and opportunities).
- Developing and delivering the short-term and long-term Global QMS audit plan by building a Global QMS auditor network and continuously improving the auditing capability across the function.
- Sustaining the Quality IT system, stabilizing and maximizing its operational value (e.g. Reliance, SAP).
- Building a high-performing and expert Quality governance team through implementing the annual talent development plan/succession plan and developing own ways of working.
- Establishing and maintaining Syngenta CP Global quality subject expert network and effectively leveraging the Global resource to support the business strategies.
- Providing the technical expertise and guidance to the business development whenever required.
- Developing the Global Quality culture promotion plan with deeply engaging with the regional quality teams.
What we are looking for:
- Solid experience in working with quality management systems and in a continuous improvement environment within a sizable manufacturing or R&D organization.
- Excellent command of English. Other languages would be a distinct advantage.
- BSc / MSc in Life Sciences or Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
- Project Management (ideally with an emphasis on IT implementations) and strong change management skills.
- Experience in an operational quality role.
- Experience with quality management software solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team settings and within matrix organizations to achieve objectives.
- Certified Quality Auditor.
- Expert knowledge of quality management systems and in software design for scientific and quality management solutions.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, focus on and obtain business results within deadlines.
The role is based in our Global Operations Centre in Manchester. This is a hybrid contract, with a minimum of 2 days per week to be worked in the office, with remote working available for the remainder of the week (for the first few months, there may be a requirement to spend up to 3 days per week onsite). The site is a local hub for worldwide operations, ensuring growers, globally, have access to the right product at the right time. You will find a dynamic and agile working environment, with a diverse and inclusive culture, with more than 200 employees working on Syngenta's site.
