As a Project Lead within our Assisted and Automated Driving (AAD) Motion Control team, you will play a critical role in delivering the control systems that enable intelligent, responsive, and safe vehicle behaviour. From steering and braking to advanced motion planning, your work will directly influence how our vehicles feel and perform on the road. WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Take ownership of agile delivery and technical leadership in a high-impact, cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Lead the roadmap and delivery plan for your squad, ensuring alignment with programme milestones and reporting progress to stakeholders.
  • Guide your team in delivering high-value system features, helping them stay focused on outcomes that drive real-world performance and innovation.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, inclusive, and outcome-driven.
  • Define and manage the product backlog, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and partners to remove blockers and manage risks.
  • Lead the development of system architecture and requirements, ensuring compatibility with future vehicle electrical platforms.
  • Generate robust technical documentation and evidence, demonstrating compliance with JLR standards and system performance targets.
  • Collaborate internationally, with frequent overseas travel to support global development and integration efforts.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bring a blend of technical depth, leadership experience, and systems thinking to deliver complex control systems at scale.
  • Extensive experience leading large, multidisciplinary engineering projects, ideally in automotive or embedded systems environments.
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering, closely related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electronics and network communications, including ECUs and system integration.
  • Proven track record in model-based software delivery, particularly for safety-critical systems within a structured quality framework.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and quality management processes, enabling you to lead teams through iterative, value-driven development.
