The predicted salary is between 47110 - 58888 £ per year.

Location: Bradford/Leeds - Hybrid Working (a mix of office and home working).
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Contract Specialist to join the Energy Team within the wider Commercial Services team at Yorkshire Water.

We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the region’s health, wellbeing, and prosperity.
New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry.
Where you fit in – You will be responsible for a number of large third party contracts including our Electricity and Gas supplier agreements which alone have a contractual value of £120m pa. They will have the opportunity to be an integral part of our Energy Strategy delivery through the management of an increasing number of renewable contracts across multiple sites, for example the 28 sites in our Solar Phase 1 scheme. The role will also manage our renewable incentive contracts worth £6m pa and our CPPA contracts. You will work with key suppliers and industry third parties. Utilising an understanding of energy industry regulation and practice, the Energy Contract Specialist will utilise vendor management experience to support a wide range of business objectives. You will support the Energy Team in contract management and administration, and ensuring service level agreements are met.
Some of the key responsibilities include the following:
- Manage Supplier tenders in conjunction with incumbent TPI’s and Commercial Team practises.
- Manage contract meetings, provide agenda, minutes, SLAs.
- Review and report on contractor performance against contracted SLAs. Escalating non-compliance with SLAs to the Energy Manager.
- Produce Business cases to support the development of new contracts and services.
- Evaluate contract pricing mechanisms relating to flexible electricity supply, renewable schemes and metering contracts.
- Support the Energy Manager in Business Planning activity.
What skills and qualifications you will need:
- Previous experience within the energy and utilities industry and experience of energy regulatory processes and working with energy suppliers, meter operators, DNO’s.
- Significant experience of Flexible Electricity Contracts and Metering Contracts.
- Contract management, tender processes and contract administration experience.
- Excellent IT skills, proficient user of all MS Office Applications.
- Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage and organise heavy workloads, prioritising relevant business needs. Good attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to understand and liaise with others, this could be colleagues, managers and external contractors.
- Able to be resilient under pressure and is self-reliant with a personal drive for continuous development, demonstrating a strong customer service ethos.
The role will involve occasional travel to different sites across Yorkshire, therefore you will need a UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 1-2 days in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
