As part of the dynamic JCB materials team, you will manage a diverse range of suppliers across key commodity areas, supporting JCB's production lines. Your role is crucial for ensuring availability of key components, which is key to JCB's drive to build machines and increase market share. You will oversee the inbound supply chain, assess run-out risks, issue schedules, address overdue issues, and enhance supplier capabilities to meet production needs.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Planning and scheduling of forecast requirements from suppliers
- Maintenance of part data quality on forecasting, and lead-times
- Urgent response time to internal shortage notifications
- Management of inventory levels in accordance with system parameters
- Managing supplier relationships across your area of responsibility
- Prompt resolution on goods-inbound discrepancies
- Working with cross-functional teams to deliver the best solution for any issues
- Regular communication with suppliers daily
- Escalate any foreseeable issues in a timely manner
