We’re currently recruiting a Consents Engineer to join our Sizewell C team as part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA). This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of the UK's future nuclear energy infrastructure.
About the Role:
As a Consents Engineer, you will work closely with the SZC consents team to identify, manage, and monitor all required consents for the Sizewell C project. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all consents and permits are in place, and that the conditions are being met throughout the project lifecycle. This role will give you the opportunity to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring that we meet the required environmental and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify consent requirements for upcoming works and provide support to the wider team.
- Liaise with the SZC Consents Team and planners to track progress and ensure all consents are in place on time.
- Develop an understanding of the contract and technical requirements of consents, including areas like water, ecology, marine, and noise & vibration.
- Coordinate technical documentation from the supply chain and ensure that submissions are complete and accurate.
- Manage the compliance with consent conditions and ensure records are maintained.
- Participate in early engagement, pre-application, and consent review meetings with relevant Consent Granting Bodies (CGB) and regulators.
- Provide progress updates and risk assessments to the Project Manager.
- Ensure all necessary consents are in place before any activity commences on site.
