About The Role

Our team of Peripatetic Music Teachers at the City Academy Hackney cover a wide range of musical and instrumental skills. We are seeking a Peri Music Teacher familiar with current techniques and developments in teaching and with knowledge of a range of music cultures, to deliver instrumental skills training and lead performance groups in an educational context. The role is for 4-5 hours per week, commencing in September.

The job will involve preparing and delivering teaching sessions, in line with a recognised scheme of work, to both individual students and groups. The post holder will promote performance opportunities for students, liaise with parents, keep required records and assess students' progress.

To apply, you will have a relevant qualification and dynamic teaching techniques, with demonstrable experience of improving student outcomes. Excellent communication and organisational abilities are essential. You will have a commitment to safeguarding the welfare of students, as well as to ensuring that music and singing is accessible to all abilities and social backgrounds.
