As a Director, Sustainability, you will champion sustainability with a focus on environmental actions, and drive engagement across the company to measure, reduce and report our environmental footprint; and achieve our science-aligned targets. You will bring your experience of delivering sustainability actions in a corporate setting, a high level of competence with data, and a natural ability to communicate complex issues to internal and external stakeholders.

As a Director, Sustainability, you will:

  • Oversee the company’s ISO Certified Environmental Health and Safety Management System and work with colleagues around the world to deliver reductions in energy, water and waste; collaborate with the procurement team to drive best practices in sustainable sourcing; and develop company-wide campaigns to engage colleagues in a range of sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead BCD’s sustainability reporting activities, ensuring robust data underpins our strategy. This includes the preparation for our first and future CSRD report(s), and annual submissions to Ecovadis, CDP and UN Global Compact as well as our annual Sustainability Report.
  • Develop the company approach to Human Rights, in line with upcoming regulations, and oversee related reporting initiatives such as the annual Modern Slavery Statement and other local initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the sustainability team, HR and communications to develop and deliver training to support the strategy and foster wider engagement and understanding of the topic across the company.
  • Become a thought leader, developing subject matter expertise around relevant sustainability and business travel topics to support communications, product development and other areas of the business.
  • Manage consultants to ensure high quality of delivery of services and value for money.

About you:

  • You are a leader with proven experience of corporate sustainability, with a focus on data, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • You have direct experience of preparing either Ecovadis or CDP submissions as well as carbon data collection and management.
  • You have excellent project management skills, are highly numerate and articulate and with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • You are a self-starter, proactive and action-oriented, and passionate about the evolution of sustainability.
  • Knowledge of business travel is not essential but a willingness to learn.
