A high-volume manufacturing company in Northampton are currently recruiting for a Site Engineering Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. As a key member of the management team, you will lead and develop the site maintenance engineering team to achieve targeted levels of performance, customer satisfaction, quality standards and ensure that all health, safety, legal and environmental standards are met. The role is also responsible for annual multi-million pound CAPEX projects covering machinery, facilities and utilities. The company is part of a global group, highly stable and profitable with opportunities for internal progression.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the engineering function to ensure that equipment, services, and plant are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
- Lead the engineering department of approximately 22 staff via 3 direct reports (maintenance, reliability, engineering stores and projects).
- Improve engineering team culture – move from reactive to proactive/planned maintenance.
- Ensure that the equipment, services, and plant are maintained safely and efficiently.
- Manage projects including the introduction of new equipment, introduction of new processes and improvements in the performance of existing equipment.
- Work with Group Engineering and key suppliers on long term engineering solutions.
To be considered for this role candidates will have proven engineering management experience in high volume/continuous manufacturing. You will be able to demonstrate success in people management, overseeing CAPEX expenditure and management as well as driving LEAN / CI projects in engineering. A HNC/HND/Degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline is also required.
