The Role you will be doing:
As Logistics Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring materials arrive safely, on schedule, and cost-effectively. You will be a key link between manufacturing, project teams, transport providers, and customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport & Delivery Coordination: Plan, schedule, and coordinate the dispatch and delivery of products to various construction sites.
- Liaison: Act as the primary contact for transport providers, site contacts, and internal teams (manufacturing, sales, project management) regarding deliveries and logistics matters.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, manage, and track all necessary logistics documentation (e.g., delivery notes, shipping manifests).
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor shipments in transit, proactively addressing any potential delays or issues.
- Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and streamline processes.
- Problem Solving: Resolve logistical challenges, such as transport issues, site access restrictions, or delivery discrepancies, quickly and effectively.
- System Management: Utilise ERP/logistics software to manage orders, track inventory related to dispatch and maintain accurate records.
- Project Support: Assist project teams by providing logistical information, coordinating delivery schedules according to project timelines, and ensuring smooth material flow.
About You:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a logistics, transport coordination, or supply chain role, preferably within manufacturing or construction supply.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with ERP or logistics management software is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems effectively.
- Understanding of transport regulations and logistics best practices within the UK.
