Business Analyst
Contract Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: Up to £400 (outside of IR35)
Location: London (2/3 days per week in office).
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Business Analyst to join the team. The ideal candidate will excel in refining and managing tasks, facilitating discussions, engaging with stakeholders, and understanding technical concepts. A hands-on approach to addressing production issues reported by internal teams and external clients is essential. The role also involves leading testing efforts and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Experience in machine learning (ML) and MLOps is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Triaging and Issue Management
- Take ownership of identifying, reproducing, and resolving production issues reported by stakeholders and internal teams.
- Work with relevant leaders to prioritise and determine next steps for addressing issues.
- Contribute to backlog refinement, ensuring alignment between business needs and development goals.
- Partner with development teams to resolve issues efficiently and support retesting.
- Provide clear documentation and regular updates on issue resolution progress.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Facilitation
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and document requirements or understand reported issues.
- Facilitate discussions to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to translate needs effectively.
- Communicate progress, risks, and milestones to stakeholders regularly.
Technical Awareness and Backlog Management
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions align with business goals.
- Maintain and prioritise the backlog, ensuring clear and actionable acceptance criteria.
- Actively support the resolution of technical challenges during the development lifecycle.
Testing Leadership and Coordination
- Oversee testing activities and promote best practices throughout the testing phase.
- Work with engineering teams to create and execute test strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth testing and deployment processes.
- Provide stakeholders with updates on testing progress and outcomes.
Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in an agile environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL, and handling large datasets; a strong understanding of software development workflows.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of addressing diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Teamwork: Effective collaboration skills to work across functional teams.
