Our client is seeking a proactive and committed Health, Safety & Environmental Engineer to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will promote and support a strong health and safety culture across their operations and ensure all company and client safety standards are met and exceeded. This is a dynamic, hands-on position involving nationwide travel and collaboration with multiple departments and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and support the positive development and safety culture.
- Improve safety performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide health and safety support to the Projects Department in planning and developing Safe Systems of Work.
- Conduct audits and assurance plans at various sites across the UK.
- Complete risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks, and pre-work briefings.
- Attend regular client and customer safety meetings.
Ensure all company health and safety procedures, policies, and standards are upheld.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Level 3 Health & Safety certification (minimum).
- ISO 45001 Internal Auditor or similar H&S auditing qualification.
- IOSH membership.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and locations.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualifications.
- Quality and/or Environmental Management certifications.
- Experience within the telecommunications or construction industries in a safety or quality assurance role.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations (Construction Design Management).
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Timely submission of timesheets and expenses.
- Completion of all mandatory training (internal and external) on schedule.
- Maintenance of company vehicle to support a positive company image (if provided).
Travel allowance - £5953 per year (paid monthly, circa £496).
