Role: Formula 1 Technical Production Manager
Location: Banbury / Travelling
For the past 10 years, Live Wire has worked across Formula 1, supplying technology to the major teams and F1 Management. Our work varies from constructing viewer experiences in teams’ hospitality suites, paddock, garages and factories elevating each of the 24 races a year. We work closely with our suppliers to deliver pioneering technology and integrate innovation into all of the work we do.
Live Wire provides AV technology for all genres of events including Festivals, Concerts, Conferences, Theatre and Dance. We work with large concert halls in London such as Southbank Centre, Barbican, Sadlers Wells to provide technicians, support and Equipment.
Job Description:
A Production Manager at Live Wire is required to collaborate with the project management team, finance, operations and clients to deliver high profile events and race setups. This involves assessing venue layouts and technical specifications to determine the optimal setup for AV equipment. This extends to developing detailed production plans, including equipment lists, staffing requirements, and timelines.
It is the duty of both the project and production management teams to produce and deliver budgets, including equipment, crew and rechargeable costs. It is important to provide sufficient planning and progress documents to predict delays, communicating these with clients and creating action points to mitigate additional costs.
Live Wire is looking for a Production Manager to lead a team of AV technicians and production staff, providing direction, support, and feedback. They will be responsible for delegating tasks effectively and empowering team members to take ownership of their kit and build schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and execute high profile shows, working alongside world class drivers and musicians.
- Producing comprehensive production schedules, kit lists and team briefs.
- Writing debriefs for clients following each race, making clear action points and ideas for improvements.
- Cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with our clients and building new partnerships to expand business.
- Ability to write and deliver budgets, reconciling additional costs.
- Excellent communication skills, working effectively with the wider team on track and back in the UK.
Requirements:
- 5 years experience working within events of varying demand, including leadership roles.
- Specialist in lighting, sound or AV but having the confidence to understand and manage all aspects of a project.
