Salary: £30,379 plus £1,750 locational allowance and excellent benefits, including Civil Service pension.

Location: Based at Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes, with the flexibility of hybrid working depending on business need. Free shuttle bus available between central Milton Keynes and Hanslope Park.

Supporting leadership at the heart of strategy and impact by providing exceptional support to the Director Customer Relationships and Strategy. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Director’s diary and providing logistical support for meetings.
  • Leading briefings in meetings and ensuring timely submissions for projects.
  • Handling all the Director’s expenses and managing staff, including annual leave requests and performance reviews.
  • Organising events like team away days and visits to Hanslope Park, and planning overseas visits.
  • Providing operational support to the rest of the directorate.
  • Maintaining the stakeholder directory and handling senior-level enquiries.

You should expect to travel frequently, especially between London and Milton Keynes.

Experience in an administrative role, such as being an Executive Assistant, where you closely worked with senior officials and mastered the ability to ‘manage upwards’, will be beneficial. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with different stakeholders or drafting senior board papers. You should be adept at proofreading, summarising, and communicating complex information with ease. Providing high levels of customer service comes naturally to you. Experience working with government bodies, along with strong diplomatic and organisational skills, will help you deal with sensitive information and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
