Role Overview: As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial transactions of our restaurant group. Working closely with the fractional Finance Director, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records, support cash flow management, and assist with reporting to keep our business running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Process invoices, expenses, and supplier payments in a timely manner.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash transactions.
  • Reconcile restaurant sales and revenue reports with bank deposits.
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax compliance.
  • Assist in payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies or financial risks.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the fractional Finance Director and external accountants to ensure compliance with financial regulations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within the hospitality or retail sector although this is not essential.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
