Pertemps, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a forward-thinking corporate H&S team in Plymouth. This is a 6 month contract role initially, based in Crownhill, Plymouth.
In this role, you will provide clear, consistent advice across all departments, support compliance with statutory obligations, and help drive strategic improvements. From risk assessments and workplace inspections to incident investigations and reporting (including RIDDOR), you will be a vital part of keeping operations safe, compliant, and effective.
You will also work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to develop and deliver strategies, projects, and ensure ongoing improvements to the safety management system.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Advising across all areas of health & safety
- Supporting risk assessments, audits & site inspections
- Investigating incidents and recommending preventative measures
- Monitoring legislation updates & best practice
- Preparing H&S reports and statistical data
- Liaising with stakeholders, contractors, and enforcement bodies
- Deputising for the H&S Manager when required
What You Will Bring:
- NEBOSH/NVQ Level 6 in Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Certified IOSH Membership
- Strong H&S experience within multi-disciplinary environments
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset
- Full UK driving licence
