Here at the Mick George Group, we are hiring a Quantity Surveyor.
Responsibilities
- To oversee the day-to-day commercial control of projects.
- To be responsible for reviewing contractual terms and administering the contract throughout the life of the project.
- To procure subcontract packages timeously in line with scope of works as well as mitigating contractual risk to the business.
- To procure materials in line with project requirements.
- To submit accurate valuations to clients and actively seek requests for payments from clients.
- To measure subcontract works and issue payment certificates in line with contractual requirements.
- To accurately report cost and value in line with the financial timetable.
- To raise risks, opportunities, and concerns with senior management at the earliest opportunity.
- To close out the commercial elements of projects through to final account with clients and subcontractors.
- To maintain client relationships.
- To seek opportunities for new and continued work.
- To be aware of the health and safety responsibilities on site and raise items of concerns with site management or senior management.
- To provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team.
- Always conduct themselves in a professional manner as an ambassador of Mick George Group.
What we are looking for?
- Degree or NVQ in Quantity Surveying.
- CSCS Card.
- Experienced in Earthworks projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasks.
- Basic computer literacy (use of emails, etc.).
- Knowledge of NEC / JCT contracts.
- Chartered Member of RICS / CIOB.
- Experience working as a sub-contractor.
