The Northview Students Worship Director's primary responsibility is to coordinate weekend worship programming and lead worship for all Northview Students' services and events. In addition, this position is responsible for developing student musicians and teaching students what worship is. This is an exempt full-time salary position in the Northview Students Ministry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Worship Responsibilities:
- Give Ministry Away
- Oversee worship programming for High School on Sunday nights
- Oversee worship programming for Junior High on Friday nights
- Oversee worship programming for 5th & 6th grade on Saturday evening and Sunday mornings
- Teach and communicate what worship is during weekend services
- Develop worship team students and volunteers
- Recruit, rehearse, and train student and adult volunteers to lead worship within Northview student ministries
- Lead and oversee the spiritual health and well-being of the worship teams
- Plan weekend services & programming with the Carmel Campus student team
- Stage design in cooperation with the Multisite Production Technicians
- Plan cue sheets for services
- Build backing tracks for services
- Oversee technical aspects of programs in cooperation with the Multisite Production Technicians
- Develop worship songwriting and recording skills among students who have a passion and desire to do so
- Facilitate and oversee opportunities for Northview Students worship teams to occasionally lead worship outside the Carmel Campus
- Attend staff chapel and huddle meetings
- Attend Northview Students staff meetings
- Attend retreats and training conferences
- Plan and prepare worship and programming budget
- Manage and Develop Northview Students Worship Residents and Ministry Associates
- Develop and protect a culture of worship that is aligned with scripture and the five core values of Northview Students
- Attend a service each week to stay in tune with the direction of Northview and to continue to develop spiritually
- Pray regularly for Northview’s leadership, volunteers, and students
- Pursue regular contact and relationship building with students and their parents/families
- Be available to students for personal needs and prayer requests
- Respond to emails and voicemails within 24 hours
- Strive to improve personally and professionally by looking for and participating in learning opportunities
- Perform related duties as assigned by manager
- This position works with volunteers and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church. The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree plus three to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience would be leading corporate worship, working with students as a music teacher, or other experience teaching and training music to students.
