As our Museum Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for enhancing visitor experience and engagement activities at Valence House Museum by developing a sustainable community engagement programme. This includes creating family-friendly trails, activities, events, and focus groups. You will develop and implement an audience development plan, conduct visitor surveys, and collect data to ensure broad community engagement with the museum's work. Additionally, you will provide a high-quality welcome by managing the front-of-house team to ensure visitors have an outstanding experience.

Special requirements for this post: You will work on designated days, including a regular weekend day. Occasional evenings and bank holidays may also be required.

About you: The ideal candidate will have a Heritage/History related degree or equivalent, with at least 12 months of experience in a museum or heritage environment. You should have excellent customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and experience in community engagement, interpretation, outreach, and developing family learning activities and public tours. Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or trainees, organizing workloads, and providing training is also essential.
