We are working with a leading agency with expertise in sustainability strategy and reporting as well as a creative communications offering. They provide a range of services around corporate sustainability strategy, reporting on it, through to communications, PR and content for a diverse client roster. The agency is well established and has built a reputation based around its deep knowledge and experience in corporate Sustainability Programmes and reporting compliance. It\’s known for its consultative approach, well-crafted creative output and the emphasis it places on truly understanding the clients that they work with and communicating their goals with regards to Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. This allows them to advise and consult, whilst producing exceptional reports and communications work that is executed to the highest standard and has meant that they have retained clients as well as winning new ones year on year.

Within this role, we are seeking an experienced Sustainability Consultant who has worked in a similar consultancy role, ideally in a reporting and communications agency environment. The role requires someone who has fantastic technical knowledge of ESG reporting and the corporate sustainability space more broadly to help inform strategy for clients.

The role will see you working with clients from a wide range of sectors including many large and well recognised multinationals. It’s a highly client centric and strategically geared consultant role where you advise and guide senior clients at different stages of the sustainability journey. The clients that you work with may have complex ESG and reporting needs and be based across different continents along with many other factors specific to them and their operations, so it is important that you have a deep knowledge of legislation, standards and the various frameworks for compliance, and to set out strategic roadmaps with clients for upcoming years.

The role will be varied and see you consulting on clients’ sustainability goals and KPI’s, Materiality / Double Materiality, emissions calculations, and ESG rankings etc., as well as leading Client Workshops on upcoming regulatory changes and producing thought leadership. You’ll also collaborate with Reporting and Communications Consultants at the agency on projects and play an important role inputting to New Business Proposals and helping win and develop accounts for the agency. It’s important that you are really comfortable taking complex and technical info and translate it into understandable and digestible communications for clients whatever the task.

Any background experience in Financial / Annual and Integrated reporting would be an advantage alongside experience in these areas:

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, integrated reporting, ESG reporting, and sustainability strategy.
  • High level expertise across frameworks for sustainability reporting. ie. IFRS, TCFD, SASB, GRI, and UNGPRF.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations across Europe, North America, as well as the rest of the world such as CSRD, SEC, ISSB, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, and anti-greenwashing policies.
  • Having worked on sustainability / ESG ratings, rankings and surveys such as CDP, DJSI, CHRB, ISS, Sustainalytics.
  • GHG emissions calculation, net-zero assessments, and Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
  • Experience of working with clients on double materiality assessments.
  • Familiarity with sustainability/ESG reporting platforms and databases.
  • Experience in implementing Workiva solutions.
  • Expertise in conducting human rights and saliency assessments.
  • Ability to offer advice on diversity and inclusion strategies.

As part of ongoing projects, you’ll contribute your strategic knowledge to ensure successful and expert project delivery, leading client-facing presentations and workshops with enthusiasm and confidence. Finally, you will support the Account Direction team by offering strategic guidance and recommendations directly to clients.
