A rapidly expanding company supplying high-efficiency turbo blowers to waste treatment plants and other industries is seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician to travel to customer sites to develop sales opportunities, perform technical services on local installations such as equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance tasks.
The Electrical Field Service Technician has extensive analytical and problem-solving skills and works well in an entrepreneurial environment. Must be proactive, have excellent interpersonal and client-relation skills, and strong technical ability.
Duties:- Design Programmable Logic Control (PLC) based Turbo Machinery control systems.
- Maintain and upgrade the software and design improvements of the local control panel and Master Control Panel (MCP).
- Oversee the onsite implementation and installation, commissioning, and testing.
- Design for wastewater treatment facilities including electrical and control design, aeration distribution, and SCADA control implementation.
- Provide expertise on distribution and motor control utilizing components such as harmonic filtering, variable frequency drives, soft starts, and emergency power backup.
- Program and update software packages for human machine interface including Allen Bradley, General Electric Proficy (Intellution), Wonderware, and National Instruments Lookout.
- Supervise installation and start-up of control systems including new, old, and existing ones.
- Work on different communications systems including fiber optic, ethernet, serial, and proprietary communications systems such as control net and profibus.
- Provide support to the company control and electrical engineering needs.
- Provide technical assistance to the start-up and production teams.
- Prepare Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID), submittals, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers for selection and procurement of process instruments.
- Maintain a well-organized and current technical database.
- Prepare technical memos, design layouts, and modifications to existing designs.
- Provide technical assistance during installation/start-up and on an ongoing basis.
- Health and Safety generalist that gets qualified to NEBOSH in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Deploy the Health and Safety Program in the UK.
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or related experience.
- Experience in industrial aeration processes and wastewater treatment.
- Experience in relay logic and PID loop control systems.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers including Allen Bradley, Modicon, General Electric, Emerson, Siemens, and others.
- Excellent computer knowledge.
- Good knowledge of French (written and spoken). English is an asset.
