iO Associates are partnered with a Cheltenham-based SME on their search for a Linux Consultant with active eDV Clearance to design, develop, and maintain software and systems that run on Linux platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux internals, system programming, and scripting, and be comfortable working in environments that demand performance, reliability, and security.
Rate: Up to Β£600 / day Outside IR35
Location: Cheltenham (3-4 days on-site)
Clearance: Active eDV
Contract: 12 months (permanent also considered)
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu)
- Solid understanding of Linux internals: process management, file systems, permissions, threads, memory management
- Experience with scripting: Bash, Python, Perl, or similar
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
