Jaded London are looking for a dynamic and proactive Womenswear Buyer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a growing brand, with opportunities to bring your own ideas and expertise to the role. Your main focuses will be to own and execute a clear product strategy for Womenswear, working with key internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure we offer the best product range for our customers based on trend and assortment whilst also delivering on price, quality and margin targets. Being an excellent communicator is essential for this role to build strong relationships with our supply chain, wholesale partners, collaborations and internal departments. A strong understanding of the brand, who our customer is and where we sit in the market is essential. We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, with a great eye for product and trend.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Build, shape and adapt Womenswear product ranges to ensure we consistently offer fashion-forward, balanced assortments and exciting newness for our customer. Working closely with design teams across all stages of the design process, from research to actioning styles with suppliers.
  • Lead and take ownership of executing seasonal, monthly and weekly strategies, remaining agile based on sales performance and trends. Report on how we are tracking against option targets and make suggestions on where we should adjust our buy plans.
  • As a global business, ensure we cater to all markets and customer profiles, thinking about seasonal trends, macro and localised key dates impact to effectively feed analysis and ideas into buying strategies.
  • Ensure we deliver profitable ranges and hit margin targets, by negotiating with suppliers and understanding their capabilities, monitoring and controlling design detail and controlling our EME and category assortment.
  • Consistently demonstrate foresight of the coming month and season, instilling critical path deadlines to all teams to ensure we hit key timelines for collaborations, collection launches, seasonal product areas, long lead product areas, wholesale partners and key supplier/market holidays.
  • Work closely with merchandising on depth positioning and buy planning across all KPIs, controlling OTB for newness and remaining reactive with buy planning based on performance.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail in fit sessions, work closely with technical, production and design teams to ensure we achieve high quality garments at the correct fit and size range. Take prompt actions from fit meetings to negotiate on cost prices, delivery dates, quantity etc.
  • Lead rack up meetings to present product ranges to wider teams, particularly to marketing teams to understand the collection vision, commerciality and key styles to feature in marketing activity.
  • Manage and organise shoot samples closely with wider team members, ensuring samples are correct and on time. Working closely with the Head of Marketing to organise shoot sample deadlines in accordance to planned shoot dates.
  • Build strong relationships with our supply chain, understand their capabilities, workload and capacity to ensure we protect future volumes. Utilise product knowledge across negotiations to achieve margin targets, cross sampling where necessary, understand stock fabrics, minimums and lead times and communicate to wider departments where necessary.
  • Closely analyse and monitor product quality, sizing and returns, paying close attention to social media comments and customer care feedback to inform product decision making.
  • Continually analyse trading performance. Maximise bestsellers by suggesting move ons, colour ups, utilising VM, CRM, marketing activities and wholesale partners.
  • De-risk poor performers by suggesting quantity reductions, cancellations price changes, phasing, image changes, VM pushes, PR gifting, social pushes etc.
  • Keep up to date with competitors and trend, understanding what our direct, aspirational and threat competitors are doing and where we need to be reactive on price, trend, assortment.
  • Share trend reports and analysis, regularly sharing inspiration and suggestions of new design areas.
  • Work closely with our wholesale team to understand our wholesale partners product performance, handwriting and best/worst sellers. Shape ranges with key accounts in mind to maximise sell through and minimise risk.
  • Organise trips to visit suppliers, trade shows, exhibitions to constantly seek inspiration and build on relationships. Focus on sustainable initiatives and ethical sourcing.
  • Coach and manage junior team members, share knowledge and expertise.

  • Proven experience in fashion buying, 3 years+ experience.
  • Commercial awareness and strong trading mindset.
  • Passion for Jaded London and the fashion industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Good negotiation skills, able to work with suppliers to reach the best outcomes. Experienced in managing supplier relationships.
  • Proactive and adaptable. Is able to bring about ideas and change to streamline processes and maximise efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. Building great relationships with supply base, wholesale partners and collaborators.
  • Strong prioritisation and accuracy skills. A critical thinker and problem solver who always brings ideas and solutions.
