As the Lead Programmes and Solutions Design Engineer, you will act as the single point of contact between Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) Logistics and the programmes teams during project development phases for the Halewood Assembly Plant (HAP) and may follow the project through to facility installation. You will work closely with the GME Logistics Strategy and facility delivery teams acting as the logistics technical solutions expert and will coordinate Logistics programme impact assessments, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and adjacent departments.
What To Expect
- Act as the day-to-day contact in GME Logistics for all programme activity at Halewood including all internal and external key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Capture all part complexity, type, sequencing assumptions, and PFEP data from Supply Chain and programme teams.
- Prepare all plant logistics strategic impact assessments and gateway submissions.
- Implement Logistics facilities and equipment via vendor route and to JLR GME standards (VFM, RFQ, ME Docs).
- Manage the programme’s budget by monitoring and reporting costs against baseline, programme and equipment cost and necessary infrastructure.
- Develop and execute logistics solutions and automation strategies for the HAP production plant.
- Optimise warehousing and logistics solutions to meet programme requirements.
What You’ll Need
- Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes and facility/equipment installations.
- Experience of installation projects or Supply Chain solution design.
- Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation.
- Strong analytical skills and statistical ability.
- Experience working within a major project or programme environment.
- Project management of multiple concurrent projects.
- Relevant degree, similar qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
