Position Purpose
To drive the development and communication of innovative, tactical programs for in-store merchandising, visual presentation, and in-store signage. Partners with Merchants and Vendors during kick-offs and product line reviews to develop merchandising strategies, design initiatives, fixture concepts, and communication vehicles that drive increased sales and enhance the overall customer experience. Supports strategies to implement new merchandising objectives for the company.
Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Merchandising, Planning, Implementation, Advertising, Marketing, Store Operations, Construction, and Store Planning—to drive merchandising strategies.
- Attend all kick-offs, line reviews, and 360 team meetings.
- Develop and present competitive analyses, including best practices, current bay standards, and U.S. standards for kick-offs and line reviews.
- Identify key customer experiences for all projects and develop overall visual concepts, including merchandising, signage, and fixturing, in partnership with merchants and vendors.
- Merchandise all prototype bay sets with vendors at the Innovation Centre before rollout.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate core standards and guidelines for merchandising, signage, fixturing, and displays to vendors and cross-functional team members.
- Identify and develop new bay fixtures in collaboration with vendors and the fixture design team.
- Participate in Display Authorization walks to identify issues and develop solutions.
- Create core standard signage planograms to support installation accuracy for both new and existing development.
- Partner with U.S. and Mexico Visual Merchandising teams on standards, best practices, and joint projects.
Knowledge / Experience Required
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a visual merchandising role in a retail environment.
- High sense of urgency with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D rendering software is an asset.
- Strong project management and merchandise presentation skills.
- Able to multitask, make decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to influence without authority and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in a related field.
- Willingness to travel within the GTA (25%).
